North Korea abruptly wire mesh conveyor belt visit by UN chief
North Korea on Wednesday cancelled an invite to UN chief Ban Ki-moon to check out an industrial zone inside isolated state, in the abrupt move that wire mesh conveyor belt deplored as "deeply regrettable".
Your decision comes after Ban this week urged North Korea to prevent any actions that might escalate military tensions, after it successfully test-fired a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM).
Ban declared via "diplomatic channels", North Korea had rescinded its invitation for the Kaesong zone, which is a key earner for that cash-strapped state but a perennial method of obtaining tension with Columbia.
"No explanation was presented with for this last-minute wire mesh conveyor belt," the UN chief, an ancient secretary of state of South Korea, told a forum in Seoul.
"This decision by Pyongyang is deeply regrettable," Ban said.
"However, I since the secretary-general with the Un, will never spare any efforts to encourage the DPRK (North Korea) to use the international community for peace and stability about the Korean peninsula and beyond."
Ban had planned to search Thursday towards industrial estate, some pot enterprise between Pyongyang and Seoul which lies 10 kilometres (six miles) within the border inside North Korea.
It hosts around 120 South Korean wire mesh conveyor belt firms employing some 53,000 North Korean workers.
